Accordia Partners Welcomes New Summer Intern Thea Barton from the CREST Program

Accordia Partners is excited to welcome Thea Barton as a summer intern through the Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Program.

For over a decade, CREST has been dedicated to introducing men and women of color, who are often underrepresented in the field, to the commercial real estate industry. This initiative evolved from the CVP Career Academy, an internship program launched by Accordia Partners Co-Managing Partner, Dick Galvin.

Barton, currently majoring in architecture at Boston Architectural College, is assisting the Accordia team with various tasks, including research and project management. She says that her favorite part of the internship so far has been networking and forming connections within the industry.

"With CREST, I feel more encouraged to network," said Barton. "I’ve learned interesting details about the work that is going on all over the city and have been able to interact with some really interesting people."

Barton also mentions that the CREST internship has been an excellent steppingstone as she prepares for life after graduating from BAC.

"I am feeling a lot more confident now and I am finding my footing," said Barton. “My perspective has grown and I believe after college, I will be attending more networking events and doing my best to keep those connections alive.”

With nearly 200 students having graduated from the CVP Academy and CREST programs, Accordia is proud to continue supporting its mission of increasing diversity in the CRE industry.
